We have taken a break the last few days because Petunia and Carmel and I are still struggling with our recent knowledge that our lives and everything we are doing to become better animals on the farm may mean very little if one day all we will do is end up in a human's stomach.
I have also been thinking about my friend Biggun and I think I know what has happened to him but I will talk to you about that in a couple of days because I think March the third will be a perfect day to talk about that if you remember what March the third is from my previous weblog posts.
But back to the barn cat and I have learned that his name is Barry and he came to us today while we were all together and he startled me at first but I was able to keep my composure much better than our first encounter in my little shack.
Barry is very interesting because he understands the man and the woman better than any of us and because he can come and go from the barn and go anywhere he pleases including inside the farmhouse whenever he wants.
He asked if he could sit and join us and Carmel looked at me and I nodded a little and she said yes and he sat, at a bit of a distance, and just listened to everything we were talking about.
When we were about to close off our lunch and learn and say goodbye he asked if he could say something and we said yes and he told us that the man and the woman are in control of something called a power dynamic and that if we ever wanted to change anything we would have to have some of their power and then he said he was looking forward to our next talk and we told him that we were looking forward to him joining us for it as well and that was that.
And I have been thinking about this idea of power all day and I do not know how or why or when anything is going to happen and I want to continue to lead a life of heroic virtue and to be a model citizen of the farmyard and it seems like this idea of power dynamic is something your old friend Goebbels is going to need to study and learn about further because I think it might just be something I need.
